Miss Smart Light – $65,000
2022 AQHA sorrel mare
(WR This Cats Smart x Gracielights by CD Lights)
Let’s start with her breeding, shall we?
Miss Smart Light is exceptionally bred, carrying a powerhouse combination of some of the most influential names in the cutting and reined cow horse industry. She is by WR This Cats Smart, a son of legendary sire High Brow Cat, and out of a CD Lights daughter. Her pedigree brings together High Brow Cat, Smart Little Lena, CD Olena, and Dual Pep—a phenomenal foundation of proven performance genetics.
And that’s just the beginning.
Standing 14.2 hands and weighing approximately 1,200 pounds, Miss Smart Light is the kind of mare that catches your eye. She is the perfect size, with a beautiful shape and the presence and athleticism to back it up.
Her talent comes as no surprise given her pedigree, but what makes this mare especially enjoyable is her willing attitude and genuine desire to learn. She has been given a great start and is already proving herself in the show pen, with placings in the Level 1 at the CRCHA Futurity & Derby, Arizona Shamrock Show, AZCRHA Spring Jackpot, and the NRCHA Kimes Ranch Derby. This mare is exceptional in the cutting, boxing and down the fence. She can be shown in the snaffle or hackamore with the same feel.
Under saddle, she has all the pieces we look for in a future standout: beautiful circles, easy lead changes, a big stop, smooth and quick turnarounds, and the athleticism to continue advancing her career in the reined cow horse. If you’re looking for one that can be shown but also go on a nice trail ride, she has been ridden outside on the trails, gathering cows, roping, and in the branding pen. She will excel in a variety of disciplines.
Beyond her talent and exceptional pedigree, Miss Smart Light is simply a beautiful, kind, personable mare. She is friendly, loving, and a pleasure to have around. She has no known soundness issues and receives regular maintenance to keep her feeling and performing her best.
She is the type of mare that can fit into a variety of programs and has the talent and mind to continue progressing with her next rider. This is not an easy mare for us to part with. We genuinely love this mare and believe she has a very bright future ahead of her. We would love to see her continue her journey in the reined cow horse and go on to accomplish even more in the show pen.
