Deluxe Strlit Night aka Lucy is incredibly athletic, super smart and extremely agreeable. She is a show horse through and through. This coming 9-year-old mare is consistent, flashy, and competitive! Lucy has marked 75’s and 76’s down the fence through-out her derby, hackamore, two rein and first year in the bridle. Lucy consistently marks 73’s in all events. She takes very little preparation with a constant presence in the show pen. Lucy is also an eye-catcher in the reining; she has a huge pretty stop and lopes around real cool. Lucy changes leads without picking up the reins and has never come out of frame. She is capable of plus circles and plus stops. The style this mare has is undeniable.
Lucy is quiet and attentive in the herd; she lets you guide her and steps up right to her spot. She reads a cow well and gets super physical; this horse will turn herself inside out before she loses a cow.
Down the fence – Lucy is brave, strong and smart. Let her read her cow and she won’t let any distance come between you and her target. She is excellent in the boxing, leaves the corner soft and in position, rates so well and then crushes huge turns. In the circles she runs right to the head and cruises there on a loose rein.
Lucy has been steer stopped on both at home and in the show pen. With her grit, her huge stop and ability to rate she’ll be a strong competitor in steer stopping or on the heel side team roping.
Lucy is 100% an Open-caliber cowhorse with the mind and disposition that makes her suitable for a Non Pro competitor. To know this mare is to love her.
This horse loves her job and meets you at the gate. She is low maintenance, easy to haul and low stress. Her disposition is an extension of her great mind.
In addition to showing, Lucy has been ridden out on the ranch gathering and moving cattle/doctoring yearlings, dragging calves to the branding trap, pleasure rode in the Canadian Rockies as well as the Arizona desert.
The good horses are successful wherever they go – Lucy is a great one. We absolutely love this mare and are sorry to see her go.
